Processing / Touch OSC / Arduino

Hi guys,

i have looked for it but i just cant seem to find it. I'm tinkering around with processing, touch osc and my arduino. I've managed to print out the osc message, but how do i output the values that are represented by the sliders ??? I can retreive the state of a toggle button, but I got that from a sparkfun tutorial and they only use the toggle and no rotary/slider. It seems that whatever I do I just can't retreive them.

Please help.

You can see the name of the slider in the touch osc editor. Suppose I have a slider named 1/orange,

void oscEvent(OscMessage theOscMessage)

{

String addr = theOscMessage.addrPattern();

float val = theOscMessage.get(0).floatValue();

if (addr.equals("/1/orange")){ orangeAmount = val;}

then orangeAmount would be the output value

So imagine that i instead of a slider i am using a rotary set between 0-180. If i follow your advice i can read that input. Now i need to send it to arduino via serial port. Can i just do that:

Void draw() {

Arduinoport.write(orangeAmount)

}

Is there any conversion that needs to happen in-between?
