Hi,

Does anyone have a mirror of the Processing source code on github?

It looks to me like it would be easy to create one using http://svn2github.com/about/
and that this would also keep it up to date with changes made in the official svn repository.

But I can see several advantages if there was a semi-official mirror - it would save resources for everyone concerned (github.com, svn2gibhub.com and googlecode.com), and people wanting to fork the Processing source code would be easily able to see what mischief others were up to in different forks :-)

(my above post can be disregarded thanks - I hadn't quite got my head around this thing).

And it's scarily easy to fork a project once it's in GitHub :-)

I'm going to describe how to take a diff from GitHub and patch it back into svn (the working copy on the client side, of course)... because I found this kind of tricky to figure out, and it might come in handy for someone eventually.

So if you're browsing GitHub, a set of changes look like this...

...a simple change to the end of the URL allows you see just the diff file without any of the fancy html...

...I'm going to save it into the root of my local svn tree and call it diff.txt, then from the same directory execute the following command...

svn patch --strip 1 diff.txt

...and we're done - the patch has been applied locally. The business with --strip 1 is because git uses a very slightly different diff format in which its filenames are prefixed with a/ and b/ so we need to tell svn to ignore one level of the path.

Hmm, whether the patching-back-into-svn trick is useful or not rather depends on how much attention is paid to any issues raised... having three closed as "invalid" in consecutive minutes is possibly a sign that it might be better not to bother. (1408, 1409 and 1410 by the way).

I had a look at some of your work extending what the Processing IDE can do, by the way. That's some very impressive coding - excellent work!
