Hi there.

I'm running processing on eclipse for the first time.

The story is... I'm developing a project in eclipse (based on robotics simulator) and have the need to draw a map (or something like that), so I decided to try using processing in eclipse, since I'm experienced with processing.

So, I followed the tutorial on processing.org, having a class for processing (that extends PApplet) and the other classes, containing the info that I need to access to draw the map thingy.

The PApplet is started like suggested in the tutorial:

String[] p5args = new String[] { "--present", "P5Teste" };
PApplet.main(p5args);

The "P5Teste" class...

public class P5Teste extends PApplet

I already tried extending (PApplet) the class containing the info but that doesn't work either.

I really need some help on this one.

Probably, but I assume the tutorial is correct, so perhaps you made a mistake. Since we are not psychic, giving the exact nature of the problem (perhaps an error message?) can help.
Wild guess: have you added the core library to the project?

Hi.

The problem isn't the tutorial, I was asking for help to achieve some that's not mentioned in the tutorial, but I found a solution yesterday: changing all fields, that I want to get access from Processing, to "public static".

Now, I have a different problem. I need to run the processing sketch in a window. I've already tried removing the "--present" from the "PApplet.main()" arguments, but when I do that, everything that comes after " PApplet.main(p5args);" is not executed.

String[] p5args = new String[] { "InterfaceP5" };
PApplet.main(p5args);
System.out.println("test");

In this example, line 3 isn't run/executed.

Any ideas?

In your class's main method i'd only call the processing one.
Like :

public static void main(String args[]) {
String[] args = new String[] {"InterfaceP5"};
PApplet.main(args);
}

Then i'd add the System.out.println("test"); in the setup() or draw() method.

public void setup() {
System.out.println("test");
}

Have a look at PApplet source to understand.
