What does a button have to do with all of this?

Ah, that's clearer. What you describe as three separate programs sounds more like one single program, which starts with a user choice for a color system, which then leads either to route A (rgb) or route B (cmy). So instead of 'connecting' multiple programs it would make more sense to integrate the code and make one single program. You could have a menu structure through if-statements or through a switch.
