Hi All,
I've been seeing some serious decrease in FPS since upgrading to the latest set of browsers (Firefox 4 beta, Safari 5 and Chrome 5). My test case is this applet:
http://processing.org/learning/3d/extrusion.html ...which runs at about 2-3 FPS while being smooth as butter in Firefox 3.6 (and other recent browsers).
I wonder if this is an OSX thing? (I'm on 10.6.3) on a shiny new i7 core Macbook pro. So hardware-wise I should be (more than!) fine.
I've tried poking around in 'Java Preferences' (setting run applet to both "run in own process" and "within the browsers process"). No luck.
I've tried checking software update to see if I was running an old version of Java for OSX. But everything is up to date.
Is anyone else seeing this issue? Any hints/tricks?
