Hey there,

I started a thread on the old forum here:

and though I had some kind assistance from peterkirn, guss and Eric Jordan, I am still having some major issues running the pre-release of processing ( 0185 ) in Android mode. Incidentally, I was initially trying the 0184 build, which directly references Android, but came across this bug report and fix:

Dated around June so decided it was best to try 0185. Anyway....

it's still not working for me. The only error I now have is

"java.io.FileNotFoundException: http://processing.googlecode.com/svn/tags/processing-0185/android/core.zip "

and an alert box entitled "Download Error" stating:

"Could not download Android core.zip"

I have checked my path in processing preferences which is pointing to the SDK. I'm pretty sure the SDK is installed correctly as I have set it up to run with Eclipse and have successfully ran a basic hello world test to my AVD. So all in all, completely stumped. Any ideas anybody? I'm itching to get started with this.

Hey (guss here),
the URL in the source still appears to still be wrong.
It is pointing at

http://processing.googlecode.com/svn/tags/processing-0185/android/core.zip

When it should be pointing at

http://processing.googlecode.com/svn/tags/processing-0185/processing/android/core.zip

As far as i can tell.

Remember my old fix for this problem, manually download the core and rename it and place it in the sketch folder? it should still work :)

To make things very clear for anyone who can modify the source code, Line 46 - 48 in AndroidTool.java is:

private static final String ANDROID_CORE_URL =
"http://processing.googlecode.com/svn" +
"/tags/processing-" + Base.VERSION_NAME + "/android/core.zip";

It should be:

private static final String ANDROID_CORE_URL =
"http://processing.googlecode.com/svn" +
"/tags/processing-" + Base.VERSION_NAME + "/processing/android/core.zip";

Edit: fyi, it appears that the subfolders in version 0185 and 0184 are different

OK thanks Guss (or bjordal), I'll have another tinker later. I appreciate the guys are still working on getting this out with a future release so if I can't get your method working I'll sit tight and await developments. Cheers.

ok so I've just been informed that 0186 is cooking for Android and after downloading and testing it certainly is working! Awesome, awesome, awesome, it's going to be a late night. Mr Fry an Mr Reas (and everybody else involved) I tip my hat to you once again.
