Processing 2.0b9 Movie Maker

In last version b8 I had a problem with Movie Maker (you should find the topic here). Now I got a bit further. Now I don't get any error messages, or anything. Now half an hour has gone and were still here:

The same happens with the other compression methods. The movie should be about 5 minutes long, and there's 6040 tif-images to go! ;)

Perhaps something is not working? Perhaps there is something lacking from my computer?

I don't know about this tool yet, I use quickTime 7 (now free) for assembling my frames. In File menu choose "open Image sequence" show it the first frame in the folder, choose fps and you are done :) Well that is how it's done in a mac...

Well, I have QuickTime 7.7.3 installed, the newest at the moment, and indeed there is a Menu choice of 'Open Image sequence', but unfortunately it's PRO only. But there are other tools on the market for Windows, e.g. WinFF, which I've tried. And then there is the problem of including a soundtrack to the video, and with it the syncing problem. And the problem of the video quality.

I see, in mac it was that way, but now there is no pro o not pro difference anymore. Regarding sync, my background is video editing, so i thought... Make a slate, a bip! This is how movies are synced since ever :). First thing before sketch really runs, make a noise and a visual mark in the same frame (an ellipse or whatever, only meters that it only exists for one frame, the same with the audio beep. Than get video an audio separated and use this marks to assure sync. it should work...

Thanks, that probably is the way to go with the syncing.

OTT One thing, though, comes in mind when reading an audio file to Minim, and then analyzing the audio file in chunks and making the animation move in rhythm (or whatever) with the audio, is to connect them somehow to the frames you save, and then write these chunks of audio down to hard drive. And then have a Movie Maker make a video out of those pics and audio slices.

On the other hand there could be a tool like GSMovieMaker which you could combine audio to video. At least in the Linux world you have mencoder or ffmpeg (among others) to do these kind of things.

Just a few thoughts I had in my mind.

Hi, I just remembered a detail. It's usual to make two beeps, a start beep and an end beep, so you can check if the sync has gone ok trough the whole movie. Some times it may "slip" over time...
