processing 2.0 on osx mountain lion

Dear All,
I've been having a mostly two-way discussion on the forum on the troubles of processing on mountain lion ( http://forum.processing.org/topic/os-x-mountain-lion-and-processing-2-0b6-and-java-version).
Yesterday, there was a new topic added in the general discussion marking the same issue ( http://forum.processing.org/topic/processing-won-t-start-mac)
Since the topics were posted, there have been little posts on how to solve the problem, or even acknowledging the problem.
With a limited support for libraries in Processing 1.5.1, which may well be the result of a wonky JAVA version on our (or my) system, Processing 1.5.1 isn't a valid alternative anymore. (I'm pretty sure it isn't working as supposed to)
Getting Processing 2.0 up and running is, aparently, something magical, for some it just works, while others (like me) are left with a crippled functionality.
Is there anybody out there, running Processing 2.0 on mountain lion that can shed some light on how they got it to work, whether they had trouble installing it and what steps can be taken to remedy this.
I've tried running Processing2.0b7 on 10.6.8 with exactly the same JAVA version and that does work.
Hope this part of the forum can shed some light on the issues at hand.
Best,
Pieter
