Problem when exporting to an application

Hi there,

I have just started with Processing. When I export a sketch to a windows application, everything seems fine, but when I double click on the .EXE I get this message from the Java Virtual Machine Launcher: "Could not find the main class. Program will exit!".

Any clues about how to solve this problem? I'm running Windows XP on a Dell Latitude D520 portable computer.

Hi,

Assuming you're running the .exe straight from the export folder, and haven't removed any of the accompanying libs / jars / dlls it needs to run...some people have found that a fresh install of java fixed the problem. Does your project include any imported libraries? Does the error occur with a very simple test project, too?

Thanks a lot for answering. Yes it does happen even with the simplest sketch (no imported libraries), and I haven't removed any of the libs, jars, dlls or anything.

I have reinstalled Processing and the problem remains. About a fresh reinstall of java, what version should it be? (because I understand that Processing works with a particular version of java, doesn't it?)

I really hope you are around still, being a year old post and all. I am having the EXACT same issue. I have done almost everything possible. I've uninstalled processing entirely, re-installed it. I've tried old versions, new, and even the beta. I was convinced it was an administrative lock, so I got the IT department in on it, and even they got stumped. We tried installing JRE, JDK, old and new.

I can't even export the most basic sketch.

If anyone has a clue what I can try, please pitch in. I am using Windows 7, btw.

Hello, I am using MacBook and a laptop with Windows 7. The app and exe files are exported, it switches on but still does not work as it was supposed to. It gives me two messages:

.....javaw.exe not found........I reinstalled java and restarted and now it says : .......java virtual machine not found.......any ideas why is this happening?

I know for sure it can be fixed - some of my colleges used that in an installation...

If anyone found more information about this problem, please share.
