if i press the power button the onPause() function should run but when i unlock the screen the sketch quit and if i try to resume it starts from the begining.

Are there any solution to this problem?

Can you show your onResume() and onPause() functions ??

when i quit my app with the home button it works ok but with the power button the console says can't pause the activity.

Not sure off of the top of my head, and hard to tell without the full code (what the functions are, what sensors, etc you are calling...)

Maybe you should look at using the Power Manager (set a Partial Wake Lock perhaps) ?

Hey Jesse,

Could you show how to use this in processing?

I get as far as:

import android.os.*;

PowerManager pm;

but when I try to instantiate the PowerManager in setup()

pm =(PowerManager) getSystemService(Context.POWER_SERVICE);

I get the following error:

ok, so i look at the console and if the power button is pressed the onStop() function is fired. i think this is the main problem. can i override it somehow? (i already try to do it but it doesn't work)

had to import android.content... still new to this android platform... will study your example to get my head around this context :|
