It is strange you have this error only on one sketch. I suppose it works, ie. all its curly braces are paired. Have you tabs?
It might be interesting to try 1.5.1, which is out for quite some time. You should be able to keep both versions, anyway.

Sometimes syntax errors in one tab get things out of synch and it is had to find the error. Spelling errors, argument errors, and such. The compiler eats the rest of the code and gets to the end and announces a less than useful error.

Thanks to all for responses. I am embarrassed to reply that the problem seemed to be cause by some coding errors. One was this kind of statement:

this is wrong and could have caused pairing not to work anymore:

right is:
