OSC on OSX

I'm trying to get my Android tablet to talk to Processing via OSC, using TouchOSC and the oscP5 send/receive example. On my Windows 7 machine it pretty much just works but on OSX I get nothing. I've set the IP addresses at both ends and tried turning the firewall off, to no avail.

I suspect it is an OSX thing rather than a Processing one as I tested with Reaper which has an OSC option and that got nothing on OSX, but did detect under WIn7, but I figure someone here might have had the same experience.

Do I need to open a specific port, or do some terminal hackery? Any advice appreciated.

This is 10.7.5, if that matters.

Hmm, this might actually be weirder than I thought:

Nexus 7 w/TouchOSC-> OSX doesn't work

Nexus 4 w/TouchOSC-> OSX does work.

Nexus 4 + Nexus 7 -> Windows 7 works as expected.

Both Nexuses (Nexi?) are running 4.2.

I assume at this point it's a device specific bug in either TouchOSC or Android.

...which means this is probably in entirely the wrong place. Oh well.

could you share a little example which demonstrates the problem ? if it's a real bug, it could be interesting to point it out.

I tested on OSX with both Osculator and the oscP5 send/receive example, and on Windows with just the oscP5 example. Both Androids were using TouchOSC from Google Play.

I tried to eliminate as many failure points as possible hence using none of my own code.

you can try this little code for example
it works for me on nexus7 and mac Osx.
what are errors you get ? (wooww was that english ? how would you say that… ?
