I am trying to install OpenCV ! I have spent 2 days for this.... I have read and tried everything... And I keep having this message!!

"No library found for hypermedia.video
Libraries must be installed in a folder named 'libraries' inside the 'sketchbook' folder. "

What Can I do???

Open Processing.

Sketch-> Import Library - > Add Library

From the Drop Down, select Video and Vision.

Click on Install button next to OpenCV.

Thats how simple it was and no one bothered to reply.

Now It shows this error..

[opencv fatal error] library not loaded !
THIS VERSION OF OPENCV LIBRARY REQUIRE ADDITIONAL DEPENDENCIES.
READ THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS AT http://ubaa.net/shared/processing/opencv/

Verify that the '\path\to\OpenCV\bin' exists in your system PATH and the java.library.path property is correctly.

error message: C:\*\Processing\libraries\OpenCV\library\OpenCV.dll: Can't find dependent libraries

I have tried everything I found in forums!! i have copied the OpenCV.dll file everywhere
In addition I have checked the path and it is correct...

I have know idea what to do!!

Verify that the '\path\to\OpenCV\bin' exists in your system PATH and the java.library.path property is correctly.

Isn't this something to do with environment variable?

I havnt' tested this myself. I just got to know how to install so I thought I'd let u know.

Sorry I can't help further. I'll try running some programs tomorrow and see if I get any error. (Not at my home machine at the moment)

Dude it worked..!!

I was making a sillyy mistake!

In enviromental and system variables I was changing the Classpath Not the Path that is 5-6 variables below...

( Also did something more.I do not know if this is important but I did it before restarting.)
I added OpenCV.dl from libraries/OpenCV/library/OpenCV.dl to OpenCV/bin and Windows/System32

tell me if that helped....

I have copied the OpenCV.dll to windows/system32 as well.

That so far hasn't helped.

About Environmental variables, can you tell me how exactly you set those?
Sorry I am bit of a noob in all that stuff.

What exactly did you set?

Windows 7.

I am at the environment variables window.

Now there what exactly do I need to set.

I din't download anything extra other than OpenCV from the Add Library Menu.

In System variables double click Path and In variable value add this ";C:\OpenCV\bin;" .. (or the path you have extracted it)

DO NOT ERASE ANYTHING just add this.

and then ok, ok , ok ...

Have you also installed java? Have you also add the Java bin folder??

Oh boy guess I have to get a lot done.

Extracted OpenCV??????

Where do I do that from?

So far I have only downloaded Processing, and installed OpenCV by its Add Library tool.

Can you please guide me specifically what else would I need step by step.

Which Java do I need to download exactly??

I am downloading the OpenCV 2.4.3.

I know what to set the path to now...thanks to you.

Download load and install both JDK and JRE from here

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html

And do not forget to add also this ";C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_02\bin;" at the path... (maybe my version is older , find yours!!)

Also, maybe this version of OpenCV doesnot have the bin folder.. If not, instal OpenCV_1.1pre1a.exe

This OpenCV 2.4.3 is 263 MB and OpenCV_1.1pre1a.exe is around 60 MB.

Which one do you exactly have?

I am download JDK since I already have JRE installed.

What about the inbuilt Add Library Tool in Processing?

Download both.. I do not know why but OpenCV 2.4.3 does not have the bin folder.
somewhere in libraries there is a folder opecv which includes an opencv zip file.. Unzip in in libraries folder

My Processing folder doesn't have any libraries folder. And where exactly do I unzip the OpenCV 2.4.3?

OpenCV_1.1pre1a is an automatic installer installing in C:\Program Files\OpenCV
There is a bin folder in there for me to set the path to.

1.Click at Processing IDE File -> Preferences , check where is you sketchbook location, There make a folder libraries and add th OpenCV folder, from the OpenCV.zip that was made when you installed the library.. (if you do not know where it is just SEARCH it)

2. The OpenCV 2.4.3 files can be unzipped everywhere you want. I recommend in C: or C:\Program Files
if there is already a OpeCV\bin folder do not install OpenCV_1.1pre1a

check that the path to bin folder is ok

So I have OpenCV_1.1 installed, with a Bin folder and the path set.

I have JDK path set as well.

I have OpenCV 2.4.3 downloaded and extracted as well.

Where exactly does OpenCV 2.4.3 need to be??

There is a bin folder in 1.1 and no bin folder in 2.4.3....

just extract it where you extracted OpenCV_1.1
