Not really a processing question but SSH/Linux

I hope someone has experience in this department.

So I was using the PuTTy program for this and I was beginning my prompting code

So it's like this ;

Me@Home ~ $ PS1="[\@ \w > ]"
[ 10:00 PM > ~ ]
[ 10:00 PM > ~ ] Now I can't go back to my " ~ $ " directory
[ 10:02 PM > ~ ] because it keeps doing this.

I want it to go back so I can type more codes ;

Me@Home ~ $ PS1="[\@ \w > ]"
[ 10:00 PM > ~ ]
Me@Home ~ $ Like
Me@Home ~ $ This

Me@Home ~ $ Not
[ 10:00 PM > ~ ] Like
[ 10:00 PM > ~ ] This

?? Any idea guys?

If I am not mistaken, by setting PS1, you only change the prompt, not a location. You are still in the same path.
Just set again PS1 to try more codes, or to go back to the old one.

Yes, you are correct but that's what I am wondering; how do I go back to the home path so I can type more code?

You don't need to back to the home path, since you haven't changed the directory.
Anyway, something like:
cd ~
should bring you home.
If your question is about the original value of PS1, you probably can open a new terminal / console windows and type
echo $PS1
to see this value.

Yeah I don't mean it like that but if I typed " cd ~ " it just goes like this

Me@Home ~ $ PS1="[\@ \w > ]"
[ 10:00 PM > ~ ]
[ 10:00 PM > ~ ] cd ~

I can't go back to
Me@Home ~ $
