I've recently acquired an old Dell Inspiron 510m, and I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 on it. The sound card, which is working fine with everything else I've tried, is one of these, according to lspci:

The Minim examples, and the sound sketches I'd been working on on another machine, don't produce any sound, or error messages. Any suggestions what I should be looking for to fix this?
