(New to Processing) - SQL Server and Processing or Processing.js

I'd like to build both Processing and Processing.js apps that will communicate from and to a MS SQL Server. Where can I find more info on how to do this, examples, etc?

I have some applications I both need and want to build at work, and it'd be neat to use Processing in some form to do that rather than pay another company a lot of $ for their Java based app when I could just code what I want myself.

And some other neat things I think Processing would help with in reviewing the particular data I have to work with.

Thanks for some direction. I've searched the web but not found almost anything helpful yet.

did you already checked out the mySql library for processing? Guess its a good start.

poked around just now, most seems unupdated for years (maybe doesn't need it), but not a lot of detailed instructions there, just some code and "here you go" it seemed to me at first.

Looking for more of a step-by-step example to follow the first time through. And for SQL server, although for a browser based implementation on a portable device (like a barcode gun) I might have to resort to passing SQL server data into SQLite for the barcode gun. Don't know yet - that's why I'd like to learn, play, have fun (oh yea, and make things for work too ha-ha).

Thanks for this as one resource.

Any other takers out there?

just tested it long time ago, never used it since then. Maybe somebody else has done something with processing and mysql recently and has some other resources

The library is a bit old, perhaps, but it is not outdated: it is based on JDBC, the Java way to access databases, and it is only a thin wrapper around it, so no need to update it frequently.
Note that SQLibrary is shipped with MySQL, Postgresql and SQLite drivers but you can easily add others, if needed.
Also using Processing to access database is OK, can make some nice sketches with it, can be used in combination with a GUI library. But it is a bit limited, don't expect to do professional-level business applications with it. Making a Java Swing (or SWT) application makes more sense.
Lastly, don't expect to use Processing.js with that.
