Multiple related percentage sliders

Hello,

Does anyone know a way to get multiple related percentage sliders in processing?

Like three sliders and there sum should always be 100%. If you slide one the other two adjust at the same time.

I thought there must be something be documented on this on the web, but i didn't find anything yet. Also ControlP5 doesn't have an example about this.

You try to solve one equation with two unknowns.

100 = x + y + z

Say x is given, y and z are the unknowns. You need an additional restraint to determine y and z. One assumption could be:

if x shifts by dx, y and z both shift by -0.5 * dx to compensate. But of course you can make other assumptions as well.

Thx for your suggestion.

I figured it out. First I give initial values to x y and z. Like 60, 30, 10.
Then I used something like the code below.

float tempZ= Z;

float RRB = (tempY+tempZ)/100;

G_G = (tempY/RRB)/100;
G_R = (tempZ/RRB)/100;

float XandY= 100 - X;
float new_Y = XandY * G_R;
float new_Z = XandY * G_G;

gcontrol.controller("sliderX").setValue(new_Y);

gcontrol.controller("sliderY").setValue(new_Z);
}
