I was just about to try that.

Let's assume I don't have a background in draw().

How can I save the part of the screen ( without knowing what's there because it should work universal with every program) before display a rectangle with text on it over this part of the screen?

In general, it is not an issue because in most programs, the whole screen is redrawn in each frame. But if you really want to do it, you can just use get(), of course. Supposing the background of the tooltip isn't animated while it is displayed...

I made a test version.

It is based on a program that has background (222) or so in its draw()

It is based on stuff I found here in the forum or so.
