Is there a way to modify a vertex shape created with beginShape()/endShape() or some way to replace this method of creating shapes with something that can be edited?

Each frame you can supply completely different values between beginShape() and endShape().

It that what you mean?

no, rather i want to take advantage of the strokeJoin feature of the shape, inbetween draw() frames. Meaning I was hoping for something like (paraphrasing syntax):

void setup() {

<type> shape = new ShapeSomethingOrAnotoherClass;

}

int i = 0;

void draw() {

shape.begin();

shape.addVertex(i++, i++);

shape.end();

}

beginShape() / endShape() create the shape on the fly, it cannot be fetched back nor saved.
You can just recreate the shape, with the new vertex, on each frame. Just store the vertices in an array list.
