How to retrieve maximum(biggest) value from an Arraylist.Is there any native function?

ArrayList arrayList = new ArrayList();

arrayList.add(new Integer("12"));
arrayList.add(new Integer("13"));
arrayList.add(new Integer("8"));
arrayList.add(new Integer("345"));
arrayList.add(new Integer("9"));

println(Collections.max(arrayList));

It also works on other objects as long as they have a natural order. Ie. the object must implement the Comparable interface. Alternatively, there is a version of max() (and min()) taking a Comparator.

If I try to run this skacth, I have the error Cannot find anything named "Collections".

Maybe I must to define Collections before in the code?

Can I use this method with float numbers?

Since floats have natural ordering - yes like this.

arrayList.add(89 / 6.99);
println(Collections.min(arrayList));
