I want to make something apper on an interval, like every 5 seconds an ellipse appear at the top of the box. Please help.

Try this:

int lastTimeCheck;
int timeIntervalFlag = 3000; // 3 seconds because we are working with millis
void setup() {
lastTimeCheck = millis();
}
void draw() {
if ( millis() > lastTimeCheck + timeIntervalFlag ) {
lastTimeCheck = millis();
println( "something awesome happens here" );
}
}

I believe there are also libraries for this... I think one was called "Tween" or renamed to "Motion".. can't recall.

its called ijeomamotion. you could create a tween that tweens from 0 to 1 for 5 seconds. it could also tween from 0 to 255/100 and you could use the tweens position to fade or you could use the tweenStarted/tweenEnded events to show/hide the ellipse.

Motion.setup(this);
t = new Tween("t", 0, 1, 5);
t.setTimeMode(Tween.SECONDS);
t.repeat();
t.play();
}
void tweenStarted(Tween _t) { println(_t + " started"); }
void tweenEnded(Tween _t) { println(_t + " ended"); }
