I'm sorry for not being more specific - I'll do my best but forgive me if I don't get the terminology correct. :)
I'm trying to create one or two visual timelines. The project is to visualize the impact of 30 years of making human rights documentaries for one production company. I also would like to fold into that timeline some of the milestones of the human rights movement in general. Some of the data included would be:
# of languages the films have been translated into
# of outreach campaigns
# of schools and universities using the films for educational purposes
# of awards
# of countries screened in
for each data point, i'd like a different visual. ie, for a new language, let's say an L shape. for an award, an arc. the data would be delivered chronologically and the hope is that it would translate into an organic pathway that would visualize the growth and evolution of one company (for every new film, more outreach is done, more countries are reached...etc so the shape should really give the impression of growth).
the hope is to display this in an animated fashion as well as a static image I can print.
I'm a designer, not a programmer so learning processing has been incredibly hard (although I'm determined). At this point, I'd rather just get the project done than struggle with the learning curve and I wondered if anyone would be interested in taking on this project and writing the code with my visual guidance. I think I know enough about processing to draw rough sketches of what I'd like each shape (object) to look like and roughly how the finished product should appear. Does that help?
Thank you!
