A function/method is a set of instructions, here is a little working sample to make it clearer:

Those "function1()" and etc cedric suggested were just examples.

I need to make a code that programs to make the space key answer a random math question, send out a new question, and then answer the new question. This must run on forever. So far I can only get it to work once, using a number of different keys. How do I make it so I only use the space key, and so the code keeps executing continuously?

I suggest to make a simple sketch, like the one shown by Sergio, (or your full code if it is short enough) to illustrate your problem, as it isn't clear for me. keyPressed() works as much as you need it...
