there is no good way to do this.
VLW files are bitmaps and dont have any kerning information. instead of repeating what has been said before i point you to the following posts.

Oh thanks a lot. I thought some of these posts were obsolete. do you think we will see any kerning in processing's near future.

No.

Perhaps there are some libraries to do precise typographical work. Or perhaps just use java.awt font handling to have more accurate font handling.
