Is there a way to turn off update check?

Hello,
I downloaded and started using Processing a few days back and I have to say I am very, very impressed.
I am using it on windows xp at work and the GUI opens up and I am able to run programs fine. But I have noticed in the background, an error message thrown by the UpdateCheck.java file in the message panel. A brief look at the source file revealed that it uses the internet to record statistics, etc.
Is there a way to turn this off? The environment I am working in has restricted internet access, so I would prefer that the processing application doesn't do this.
