Have there been attempts to internationalize the processing interface ?

As a programmer, I see processing as a great teaching tool to show people that programming can be fun ! But a tool in english only can be quite intimidating…

From what I see, it does not seem like a major effort as the interface is not too big. It would require to separate UI strings in the files processing/app/src/processing/app/* and use something like i18n. I would be interested to help for this and for a french version. The second step would be the translation of the reference documentation, and to make the menu "help -> reference" point to it.

Are people interested in this ? I checked out the trunk, whom should I contact before starting writing something ? I'm not a java developper : are there recommended tools to help in this process (automatic string extraction, creation of appropriate files) ?
