Importing EXIF from Jpeg

Hi, i tryed to read the exif metadata from some jpegs for a new programm i'm working on, but i don't get it it to work...

I searched this and the old forum and found this:

"Rogue-a-muffin" use the exif library from drewnoakes.com for his work, i copied the code and give it a try (Processing1.5.1), and it gives me an error that i dont understand. (Cannot reduce the visibility of the inherited method from FilenameFilter).... can you help me out here?

If I had to guess, based on the "cannot reduce visibility" part, line 25 should be:

public boolean accept(File dir, String name) {

The way you originally had it reduced the visibilty of the accept method to default, or package-private. This will fail because you are trying to implement an interface whose methods must be public by definition.

this error is gone but i got a new one... "Cannot find anything named "ExifProcessing" Line 51.

I gues its because the java file... i copied the text from the link above to a file named " ExifProcessing.java" in the text editor and saved it to the "code" folder inside the sketch folder...

did i something wrong??

code folder is for jars. If you have a .java file, just move it next to the .pde file(s).

hi phi.lho, i move the file to the sketchfolder... now i get a new error... (The funktion getDirectoryIterator() does not exist)....

Would you be so kind and send me your sketch folder...this would help me a lot and i can go on and implement the exif code..

Do you have the related library in the code folder or in the libraries folder?

the library is in the code folder.

You probably try to use old code with a new version of the library. If I look at Metadata JavaDoc, there is indeed no getDirectoryIterator method. Seems to be named getDirectories instead.

phi.lho you're right.... i downloaded the old one yesterday and it works.... this is ok for me...maybe i figure out how to get it work with the new version, but for now its ok...
