IDE choice and assistance please

I've got some background in programming and a lot of other IT background (but not any Java related yet, so P5 is first into that field).
I'd like to use a different IDE rather than the processing IDE for easier code management etc. I've read the pages on using JEdit and Eclipse, and even seen a mention somewhere about Notepad++.
However, I've not gotten any of them to work "completely" (meaning with shortcuts, ability to select code hiding/folding blocks, integration into Processing to run). I have gotten Eclipse to run P5 scripts. I was able to follow some of the JEdit instructions, but perhaps some things have changed as I couldn't follow or find the location to load the shortcut file.
So, since I'm not particular (yet ha-ha) about which IDE I use (they are all equally new to me but I'm used to some of the Micrsoft / Visual Studio type tools) I'd like your feedback and experience with various IDE's using the latest 2.0b8.
Your recommendations and suggestions or tips on getting the most out of the IDE with P5 would be greatly appreciated.
