How to view generated javascript?

Is there a way to look at the javascript version of my PDE that processing.js spits out? It seems to be very difficult to debug Processing.js sketches if they work fine in regular old Processing. (It makes me wonder why applet export mode isn't still available for those who want more portable sketches with the full benefits of Java.)

In Processing 2 @ Java Script Mode, <CTRL>+E generates the compiled code as:

"processing.js"

However, in Processing 1.5.1, you got a compiled Java code plus an HTML w/ Java applet.

This is correct.

In Processing 2 @ JavaMode, <CTRL>+E generates the compiled code as:

"processing.js"

This is wrong. First, it's JavaScript mode, not JavaMode. Second, processing.js does not contain the compiled code of your .pde sketch, but simply is the Processingjs library which provides code for compilation of the .pde code and all the display routines. Compilation of the .pde sketch occurs on the fly when the webpage with the canvas is loaded.

If one wants to avoid the compilation step upon each load of the web page, one can use the helper tool as mentioned above and then call the compiled code as follows:

var myCanvas = document.getElementById('name_specified_in_id_attribute_of_canvas');

new Processing(myCanvas, name_of_mySketch_routine);

</script>

Anyway, it is advisable to do the debugging in Java mode first, and when the applet runs in Java mode, switch to JavaScript mode then.

Thank you! I looked over the JavaScript produced by the Helper, and everything looks in order. For some reason it still behaves strangely in JavaScript mode, despite working perfectly in Java mode, however, even after taking into account the differences mentioned in the QuickStart guide. Very strange and annoying.
