How to use WebView

Has someone managed to use WebView within a Processing sketch for Android?

I'm encountering all sorts of problems, and I'm afraid the solution involves coding those bits in Eclipse, but I really don't know how to do that either...

If you want to know how WebView works and how it's made you can read this tutorial:

However, it will require some skill of making and debugging apps in Eclipse.

However in your question you don't state: what is the purpose of displaying a webview in your sketch? For some purposes there may be an easier solution, and sometimes it may even turn out that it's better to abandon WebView incorporation because of the complexity.

However here's an example of sketch which opens on click WebView and opens "google.com".

Remember that in order for this sketch to work you need to set Android INTERNET permission:

PDE (In Anroid mode) >> Android >> Sketch Permisions

Just one more thing if you don't mind.

Once I'm inside WebView, Android's Back button stops behaving like I've set it up to. I basically used

boolean surfaceKeyDown(int code, KeyEvent event) {
if (event.getKeyCode() == KeyEvent.KEYCODE_BACK) {
//statements
}
return super.surfaceKeyDown(code, event);
}

But this does not work for WebView or APWidgets. I guess these back button events are happening in the UI Thread or something like that. Do you know of any easy way to solve that?

I need to use WebView to match a company's workflow. I had gathered that the solution was close to your code, but I was not close enough yet :).
