How to use link() without opening the browser ?

Hello everybody :)

I would like to use the function link() without opening a tab the browser, because I need to refresh this URL every 2 seconds, so i have hundreds of tabs opening where i don't want them to open.

But i would like to have the action of the link function, in order to export a data of processing to a PHP server.

loadStrings()
Or look at the PostToWeb library (unsure of the name...) if you need to use POST to upload the data.

Thanks a lot, loadStrings() works perfectly that's exactly what i needed :)
