How to take Screenshot of the program window?

I seek guidance, reference links...on how to take screen shot of the program window (running the program) and save it to a particular folder on the press of spacebar.

use the function keyPressed () - see reference

then

if (key == ' ') {
save("picture1.tif"); // whole screen of program
}
else if (key == 'i') { // just a certain part definded by a rect - see reference on rect (x,y,width, height);
PImage cp = get (rightSegmentX, rightSegmentY, rightSegmentWidth, rightSegmentHeight);
cp.save("picture1a.tif");
}
