how to save and load files easily

is there an easy possibility to load and save files? I talk about searching the file in the folders, is there an easier way than tipping the whole link to the file? (like a file browser?)

there is a post in the wiki explaining how to open files with a simple GUI. maybe thats a start

is there an easier method without working with a library? else I'd rather make it less "good-looking" but on my own..

had had bad experience with libraries so I want to do all stuff on my own..

would be nice to post more possibilities (supposed there are any

)..

You're life is going to be very very hard if you don't start using libraries, especially if you're a novice coder (like myself). I wouldn't have been able to do the things I have without the use of minim, controlp5, gsvideo et cetera. Although the install can be a bit tricky sometimes, it is worth it, since I wouldn't even know where to begin doing sound, video or gui stuff from scratch. So give it a go, it will be worth it.

ps: keep in mind that processing is already a kind of java library, and processing is pretty neat and simple right ; ).

There is nothing about Processing libraries in the linked article... The Swing library just comes with Java, so you have nothing to do to access it.

Alternatively, there are selectFolder(), selectInput() and selectOutput() built in functions to choose a file or a folder.
