define rotate and using

you want to rotate by moving the mouse? or do you want to rotate it around the mouse position as center ?
either way you just use rotate() but slightly different.

Like this..

The plus sign is the mouse and the rectangle rotates in place



I can get it done of the point is static using translate() somehow when I use mouseX and mouseY it rotates around.

Something like this

1. translate(width/2, height/2);
   rotate(PI/3.0);
   rect(-26, -26, 52, 52);

This works but here the point is static, width/2 and height/2. these value don't change.

mouseX and mouseY would be changing.

thats what you need ?
maybe rectMode was the problem...

In many ways I prefer to avoid translate() and use this approach as it means the point coordinates correspond to the sketch coordinates (useful when performing collision detection!)).  But maybe there's an easy way to figure that out when using translate() and I just don't know about it?  And maybe this is slower?
