I for one think Processing too powerful to be affected by any forum software.

With sites like openprocessing, vimeo and even offshoot sites like sketch.processing.org, obsessing.org, sketchpad.cc , sketchpatch.net , etherpad.com , pjsbox and the list goes on

I for one think the processing community needs more forums like this one. The old forum had its benefits and this one too.
Albeit for me to say which is the better of the two.

It is quite ironic for me to say that the original alpha forums at processing.org still has code that is relevant to this day.

Google.com accesses all three.

Processing is way too powerful to be affected by some basic choice of forum software. I have not even mentioned the numerous blogs and archived proce55ing reference sites you can find on google that refer to processing.

However, I agree that we need a full-blow outlet. A site where we can post opengl sketches and push processing to the next level.

Processing is the tip of the iceberg in my opinion.

Yep it happened to me this morning too then it was fine.

The spam thing seems to be a recent development...  I can't imagine the problem will last long: it's no doubt as annoying for the moderators as it is for us as it must be increasing their workload unnecessarily.  I'm still in two minds about this new forum (but then I was lucky enough never have any problems with the old one), but it certainly hasn't changed my opinion of Processing: it's still great :)
