How to force a real full screen in an Android app?

I'm loving coding for the Android with Processing, but I'm wondering if it's possible to force a real full screen (no status bar on the bottom, with the home button, etc.)

Can you let me know?

Copy and paste it into the editor... and add any necessary imports.
In this case, the following code must be added:

import android.view.WindowManager;
import android.view.Window;
import android.os.Bundle;
//Hide the navigation bar
@Override
public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
requestWindowFeature(Window.FEATURE_NO_TITLE);
this.getWindow().setFlags(WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_FULLSCREEN,WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_FULLSCREEN);
}

In addition to adding three imports, I also made the method public... a very simple fix if you know how to do it...

I've tried your solution, but it crashes my application. I've also tried creating a sketch with just your code (plus the setup and draw), and the crash still happens.

Although the app crashes on the tablet, there's no error message on Processing. I'm using a Galaxy Tab 10.1

Im confused... I've NEVER seen the status bar, etc at all when I've run a sketch onto my device...

I was actually curious about HOW to show it ????

this must be a simple problem, but like Jesse, I can not make calsign's code working...the application quits with no warnings...

Wanted to give this a bump since I am having the same problem. When I run this app on my device (HP Touchpad, CM9), I get a dialog box saying "Unfortunately, screenSizeTest has stopped." with an OK button to close the box. The app works fine without the full screen code.

I'd like to use full screen mode, and I'm wondering if displayWidth and displayHeight actually return larger values when running full screen.

that goes into fullscreen. (but your sketch should already been into fullscreen).
but aren't you talking about hiding system bars ? not the same thing ;)

Funny... this works for me if I use the onCreate method with no extra method calls - ie:

@Override

public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {

super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);

}

(i dont even have to edit the manifest)

but if i include the other flags, it crashes with no debug information...

For making in the Landscape full screen mode we need to use the following code:-

android :screenOrientation="landscape"

android :theme="@android :style/Theme .NoTitleBar .Fullscreen">
