How to convert Dimensions in Simpleopenni to meters or inches?

I am using the SimpleOpenNi-Wrapper. I want to have real xyz-coordinates in meters, centimeters or inches.

How would you calculate them in processing using the data the wrapper gives you?

Just have a look into the documentation that comes with the lib.

The contextwrapper come with several functions for that, depending on what you want to do.

convertProjectiveToRealWorld

or use

depthMapRealWorld

have fun.

About one minute ago I found convertProjectiveToRealWorld(Vector3D, Vector3D). Funny occasion.

In general: How do you know what the functions in - http://simple-openni.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/SimpleOpenNI/dist/all/SimpleOpenNI/documentation/SimpleOpenNI/ContextWrapper.html - mean? There's hardly any description, is it really all about guessing?

1. Read the docs in the OpenNI folder (quite hard)

2. Look at the samples in the OpenNi folder (lots in c++, some in java)

3. Go to the OpenNi Forum

4. Play with the examples e.g.UserScene3d, which come with simple_OpenNi

...and try and learn :)
