How to control mouse pressed and released?

Hi, I am trying to do a slider which controls an ellipse. When the mouse is pressed, the slider follow the mouse and the ellipse moves too. When the mouse is released, it stops on the last position. It is ok and already working.

But, I would like to have some stops along this slider. When mouse is over it, it is released and the ellipse stops. Then, when the mouse is pressed again AND the distance between actual position and the last stop increases, the slider runs and the ellipse two. When approaching another stop, if mouse is over it, it is released again.

Anyone knows how to do it?

Here is a sample that will release the mouse if it goes beyond the 50th pixel on the sketch window.
