It's hard to tell what's going on if you don't post any code.  I'd guess that maybe when you're drawing the menu you make a call to fill() or stroke() or similar that you're not resetting before you draw your image.  You might be able to sort it by adding a  pushStyle() before you draw the menu and a popStyle() afterwards.
