is there any way to check wether an Image save via

save("xy")

is still saving/writing to harddrive?

must be, or?

Probably no, not in a portable way at least.
Beside, for most images, on a decent computer, it should be nearly instantaneous. Although it might be longer than the time between two frames.
Why the question?

Hello Again! :)

Well I am trying to write a couple of HiRes (5000x5000px) images like this:

String theTime = timestamp();
draw(destID);
maskedTex[destID].updateTexture();
maskedTex[destID].save("/_APP_images/OiShape_" + theTime + "_O.png");
drawNoO(destID);
maskedTex[destID].updateTexture();
maskedTex[destID].save("p/_APP_images/OiShape_" + theTime + ".png");
drawPDF(theTime);

the first draw draws it standard. Images gets saved. Then there is a slightly different version. Images get's saved. And a pdf is generated.

All fine here on mac MBP. But on a different machine, windows, at 5000x5000 i get this.

Frame buffer is incomplete (GL_FRAMEBUFFER_INCOMPLETE_ATTACHMENT_EXT)

(screw the colors ;)

Problem dissapears when turning down to 4000x4000.
So i thought maybe he isn't finished writing yet, when starting the second one.

To my knowledge, save() is synchronous, ie. you execute the next line of code only after save() has finished.
At worst, you can try and stick a delay() between the two save().
But I doubt that's the real problem, as you seem to show an OpenGL error. I don't know it enough to tell you what the problem is, but I suppose that googling the error message might give some hints.

Maybe your graphic card is not able to process an image bigger than 4096x4096 pixels.

Yes it surely looks like an OpenGL thing, as it actually crashed before it even tries to save.

How can I find out what the maximum texture Size for a graphics card is?

I'll keep you in the loop, as soon as I can test this again.
