high Cpu Usage on Mountain Lion

Hi,

when I start processing without running any code, it sucks about 15% of my cpu (all other processes are all < 2%)

not saying while I start any code different from a blank screen (30%).. with any "example" I got something around 99% :S

any advice?

I don't have any plug in installed or anything strange

Me too, about 16% when all is idle, no sketch loaded, all prefs on original settings for OS X, latest V2 as of mid July that is, only safari, app store and sticky notes are running.

108.4 2GB RAM plenty free RAM 2.4Ghz Intel Core Duo,

if anyone cares.

It isn't a huge inconvenience but it makes me wonder.

Hi Guys,

I noticed that the sketch that I wrote was very CPU intensive. I solved it by reducing the frameRate() to just 5 frames a second. It usually defaults to 30. This made a big difference! However it is worth pointing out that my sketch did not require a high frame rate.

Declare frameRate(5) in the setup void.

I know it is not the same issue as you are having but it might be worth knowing.

That's a known processing bug.

But seems like up to today nobody found the cause of it.
