Hex super easy problem

Thanks for reading anyway :D

i really don't care if it uses imports of java or not, my only problem is that i cant do this:

very basic not working example

String s="35";
byte b=b.parseByte(s);
println(b); // -> it should return 35

If anybody knows how to solve this i would be very happy if you could tell here.

what do you want to achieve?

Why do you go over byte all the time?

hex is just represented as String in processing afaik.

:) i jus thought that people would understand it more easily like this..

So adding this line
import java.lang.*;

allows me to this:
b=java.lang.Byte.parseByte(s);
But sadly this isn't thought for hex (i think for binary), so how can i solve this?

OK so i have a special dat file with hex infos stored.
Now i want to change some hex values and save the dat file back.

It isn't necessary. Not only Processing already imports the base Java libraries for you, but this package is always automatically imported, even in regular Java programs.
