Help! Write a Function to Convert Fahrenheit to Celsius.

I've been trying to figure this out for a class for hours and absolutely cannot get it. I know that the formula for the conversion is C = (F-32) * (5/9), but I have absolutely no clue how to turn that into a function, and the book we're assigned is next to useless.

please read the whole thing

as you'll see, the 1st example fits your need (there are 3 in total).

please rename the function in all occurances (the current name is timestwo) and then
change the type from int to float (the word before timestwo)

also enter your formula within the function

Maybe your attempts failed due to the following:

5/9 results ZERO! Unless you make at least 1 of them a fractional type!
There are many ways to accomplish that.
Let's take the literal 9 as an example, and turn it into a float type:

9f
9.
9.0
9e0
(float) 9
float(9)

Here's my take on your task:

P.S.: I didn't need to convert the (5/9) b/c I've taken out the parenthesis from (5/9).
And since the results on the left were already of a float data-type,
the division occurred as fractional instead!

float fahrenheit_Celsius(float f) {
  return (f-32) * 5/9;
}

void setup() {
  float fahrenheit = 105;
  println( fahrenheit_Celsius( fahrenheit ) );
  println(5/9);
  println(5/9f);
  exit();
}

Thanks! My code, once I figured it out, was very, very similar to yours, GoToLoop. It looked like this:

float F_C(float F) {
return (F-32) * (5.0/9.0);
}

void setup() {
float F = 68;
println(F_C(F));
exit();
}
