Hello World! A series of documentaries on open creative languages
Hello all,
We are working in a series of documentaries on open programming languages which aim to encourage creativity and engagement with communities. The series will consist in three 30 min. (aprox.) films which will deal with the history and specificities of, respectively, Processing, Open Frameworks and Pure Data. These languages have played an essential formative role in introducing programming to a lot of talented people, so the name of the series could only be: “Hello World!”.
We have already done a first set of interviews and published a first introductory video of the project that you can watch here. We are ready to make new appointments to continue with more interviews, and we are also beginning to collect excerpts of creations and works to integrate them into the movies. But in order to go on, we need your help: that's why “Hello World!” is, from now and for 3 months, in Indiegogo, a crowdfunding platform. Don't hesitate to contribute to the project!, there's more information about it here, and the blog of the process here.
These documentaries are a way for us to contribute to the diffusion and growth of these creative open languages. That’s why they will be published under a Creative Commons License BY-SA and will be available to all with no restriction in a sharing platform of videos and in the project's website.
We are Ultra-lab, a company based in Madrid and Marseille which works in open source hardware and software projects. And for this project we are proud to count on the collaboration of Raul Alaejos, one of the directors of Arduino, the documentary.
Thank you very much for your help!
