are there any libraries or resources to be able to tap into the harvest API. or maybe someone has a link on where I could start to connect processing to harvest, I would definitely like to get a resources out there for it.

Explaining what is this harvest (a software to collect cereals in fields?) might help in getting help...

oh sorry. Harvest app: http://www.getharvest.com/api

it looks like it uses a http request to get things rolling, so I think I want to start there. there are some examples: https://github.com/moffermann/harvest-client this is for Java, so figured it would work well with processing. However, I really don't even know where to start with analyzing these files.

Indeed, with a glance, it seems you query the web application with GET requests, and fetch back Json data. So it should be, in theory, easy to do without additional library, eg. with loadStrings().
Although one library like harvest-client can save some time. It needs additional libraries, like Apache HttpComponents, apparently (easing the HTTP requests).
I can't help much as I don't have a Harvest account and al.

ok great. I really just need a place to start really-- I've only worked with twitter API and I was using a library then, so it was fairly straightforward.

you have any suggested reading to get me started? I've never had to fetch json via processing, would that be in the apache HttpComponenets? no idea what that is either :(
