getting Images into processing from twitter (or any other way)

Hi Everyone,

My idea is to have a projector running and people can tweet or send images via some way and they get displayed on the screen.

Sounds simple enough?

Any ideas on how to approach this?

You can use loadImage() on an url, so that's not really a problem.

Take a look at the twitter libraries to see what's possible. Perhaps follow a tag or @user or something.

Hi thanks for the quick reply!

i have used a url before in a image (although I cant seem to make it work for twitter! maybe you can see the problem? *see below*)

PImage pedal;

void setup(){

size(1000,1000);

String url = "https://twitter.com/SyntaxErrorOli/status/353510934901301248/photo/1";

pedal = loadImage(url,"jpg"); // maybe this line?!

}

void draw(){

image(pedal,0,0);

}

but I think the tricky bit will be getting the program to recognise when a new image has been uploaded and then to display it?

do you think it is possible?

That url doesn't point to an image.

Sidenote: you can use the full url to the image including extension.

My guess is that it's possible. As suggested take a look at the twitter libraries what options they offer.
