g.colorModeX inside function

I want to use g.colorModeX inside a function but i get this error:

the primitive type float or g does not have a field colorModeX

why does g.colorModeX does not work inside a function?

Do you have your function code ?

Because i can call g.colorModeX in a function.

void setup() {
colorMode(RGB, 127, 255, 1);
}
void draw() {
println(rColorModeX());
}
float rColorModeX() {
return g.colorModeX;
}

Perhaps you have created some global variable named g?

damnit thanks i did,

i had 3 variables to store r g and b...
