I think you mean 0 to 9 as modulo 10  will never return 10

This might do what you need:

1. int c, value, sign=1;
2. void draw(){
3.  
4. c=frameCount;
5. if(c==0) sign=-sign;
6. value=c*sign;
7. println(value);
8. }

Yes from 0 - 9 :)

There is an error in c=frameCount;  - unexpected char 0x10.

How to solve it?

Delete the space after the word frameCount and before the ;

(I typed the percentage sign for modulo but it seemed to mess up my reply :D )

Here I'm just not displaying 'value' if it's zero - you could just not use it if it's zero.

Again, the forum doesn't like the percentage sign so type c=frameCount[percentage sign]10;

To prevent 0 you can also add one and modulo on 9.

I never think to use the ternary operator; nice and compact but it just doesn't seem as clear to me.

Probably the two most non-intuitive operators. Delightfully incomprehensible, but short. See the reference for:

Modulo gives the remainder when you divide one value by the other. The conditional is a very short way to write an if-else statement. So this is the longer way to write it...

1. void draw() {
2.   int value = frameCount % 9 + 1;
3.   if (frameCount % 18 < 9 == true) {
4.     value = value * 1;
5.   } else {
6.     value = value * -1;
7.   }
8.   println(value);
9. }
