Hey Guys,

I have a problem... I want to/ have to visualize the squaring of complex numbers and the mandelbrot set.
And first of all I have to create a class that shapes a complex number with its real and imaginary part.

But I'm really helpless and don't know where I have to begin.
I have no idea what codes to use and I've never worked with fractals before and don't know much about objects-oriented-programming.

Is there anywhere an Introduction to this topic?

I'd be glad, if anyone here could help me ;)

Usually people don't handle the imaginary math by a class, they just do the equations by hand and then put the results in the program. In the Mandelbrot set, the results that are real affect the x-axis and imaginary the y-axis.

Look closely at the innermost while loop, it is doing the complex number math.

Below is a very basic class to represent a complex number, it is the one I used in creating this sketch.

Although Processing uses the float as the default type this class and the sketch uses the double data type so that it is possible to explore the Mandelbrot set in greater detail.
