"Find in Reference" points to the wrong .html file in 2.0b7?

Hi all,

I run Processing 2.0b7 Windows 64-bit version.
It seems there are some mistakes aobut the "Find in Reference" function in this version.

For example, if you select text "draw" and right click on it to pop out the context menu and click "Find in Reference", you'll get a alert saying "Could not open the URL file:/C:/mypath/processing-2.0b7/modes/java/reference/draw.html".
However, there IS a file at the same folder with very similer filename: draw_.html, and it IS the reference of the draw() function that I expect to see.

Is anyone having the same problem and any suggestions?

In Processing 2.0b7 there are problems with the reference lookup indeed. Issues have been filed and code has been changed. Should be fixed in an upcoming release or when you build from svn.

We were having some trouble with this in our Arts Tech class at Illinois State and we found a solution using Terminal on a Mac (sorry Windows users!! I'll try to come back with a Windows solution soon!!)

What's the problem:

When you click Reference in Processing, you'll see that it's looking for a document like "draw.html"; however, like you pointed out, the actual file that exists has that underscore in it ("draw_.html"). If you delete the underscore, it will work! The problem is that like, 80% of the files have that underscore in it...

To see this for yourself on a Mac, find Processing in your Applications, right-click and click "Show Package Contents", and follow the path /Contents/Resources/Java/modes/java/reference/. There you'll find a folder of like 443 items, most of which have that weird underscore.

Solution using Terminal on Mac:

Instead of going through and manually erasing each underscore, we can use Terminal to look for any filename within that "reference" directory that has "_.html" in it, and change that "_.html" to ".html".

Step 1: Make sure that your Processing application is within your Applications folder.

Step 2: Go to Applications, go to Utilities, and open up Terminal.

Step 3: Paste the following code into Terminal:

for f in /Applications/Processing.app/Contents/Resources/Java/modes/java/reference/*;do mv $f ${f/_.html/.html};done

Step 4: PROFIT!!!

Disclaimer: I know NOTHING about Terminal/Unix/Linux... this was literally a trial and error solution! Maybe someone could come up with a better non-shell-based solution? Hope this works for everyone!
